More updates

Information on our adoption comes so infrequent but we got a double dose of it! We've moved up on the list in Lithuania. We are now number 206. It seems like such a huge number, but I just try to keep the faith that God knows when the right time is for our daughter to come home. We also got approved for a small interest free loan to help cover the cost we have already incurred.  We still have a lot to raise, but as we continue to trust God, He continues to show us that He has it all under control. We have been humbled by the generosity of family members, friends, and people we only casually know. It's amazing the love that has been poured out in the way of financial support for our daughter. I can't wait to introduce her to all the people that helped bring her home.  She is so loved....and we haven't even been able to meet her yet. Simply amazing....a miracle!

Good News!!

I almost forgot...I didn't post that we recieved an update on the day that B left for Lithuania, at the end of September, that we have moved up 24 spots in line for an adoption from Lithuania.  Our first number was given to us in June.  We are now currently 225 which seems like such a huge number but I'm praying that it goes quickly!

Another option

Last week I was approached by a woman from my church who knew of a child that needed an adoptive family. She was in the middle of an adoption with another family, but they found her to be too much to deal with and the family wants to end the adoption process. My heart screams out for this little girl. She is 4 years old and from Russia. I know so little about her, but it makes me wonder is this my daughter??  How do I know?

While the idea of getting my daughter so much sooner than originally thought excites me, I can't help but wonder about the little girl I thought was waiting for me in Lithuania. I am praying and praying and praying for some clear indication from God as to what to do. Sometimes I wish God had email, so he could send me a note to proceed or hold my course.

Also, my husband is back now from a mission trip in Lithuania. He visited an orphanage while there and met the sweetest little girl. She was so scared and shy. She had only been there for 2 days. Oh how he could have brought her home with him.  I think of her often, wondering would be able to adopt her. Is she my daughter??

I wish so much that the wait wouldn't be so long! I hope God answers my prayer soon...the prayer for clarity as to wether to proceed with our Lithuanian adoption or to seek an adoption of the little girl from Russia. The woman from church suggested both......

A long wait

I've started this blog because I have found a few families with blogs waiting like I am for a child from Lithuania. I found them helpful. To know that I am not alone. So I have decided to start one of my own, to share our story, and maybe help someone while they wait.

My name is Carolyn and I am married to Broderick and have 3 children. All boys! We have talked about adopting at many different times in our marriage and now just seemed like the time to do it. It has weighed heavily on our hearts for quite some time. So with a lot of prayer and a big leap of faith, we filled out our paperwork. In June of 2010 we received word that we were approved by the Lithuanian government and we were number 249 on the waiting list. On September 24, 2010 we received an update that we have moved to number 225. It was GREAT to see progress, but we still have so far to go!

Currently my husband is in Lithuania on a mission trip, his third. Oh how I wish he could do something while he was over there to speed up the process! I can't wait to see his pictures when he returns, although the ones of the orphanages are sure to break my heart!

If you have stumbled across my blog and are adopting or have adopted from Lithuania, PLEASE share your story with me. In some crazy way, it helps.
